Frequently asked questions
Where is Vogel Design furniture made?
All Vogel Design furniture is handcrafted in our workshop in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, South Africa. Every piece is made to order — we do not hold stock.
What timber species do you use?
We work primarily in Kiaat (when available), Oak, Ash, Walnut, Yellowwood and Teak. Each species has different colour, grain character and pricing. Kiaat is our most requested timber and is available in limited quantities.
How long does a custom order take?
Standard lead time is 6–10 weeks from deposit, depending on the pieces ordered and our current workshop schedule. We confirm your lead time in writing before production begins.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship to the USA, UK, Kenya, Botswana and beyond. International orders are fully crated, insured and delivered door-to-door. South African furniture exported to the USA benefits from 0% import duty under AGOA.
Can I customise the timber, finish and weave?
Yes — all seating is fully customisable. Use our Design Studio to choose your timber species, finish, weave material (cotton rope, leather, sisal, rattan or paracord), weave pattern and weave colour.
Do you offer trade pricing for interior designers?
Yes. We have a dedicated trade programme for interior designers, architects and project specifiers — with trade pricing, specification sheets, sample delivery and dedicated account support. Enquire via our Trade Programme page.
